David De gea’s howler at Wembley leaves fans raging

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has thrust himself into the headlines again as he made huge errors in his side’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea.

With over 45 minutes gone on the clock, De Gea seemed to lose concentration on the ball and ended up fluffing a chance to save Olivier Giroud’s flicked shot as it rolled beneath his arms.

The in-form Blues forward got ahead of Victor Lindelof to poke the ball into the net giving the home side a well-deserved lead at Wembley.

Shortly after the restart, De Gea made another tremendous error as Mason Mount added a quickfire second releasing a shot from 20 yards out which again rolled beneath De Gea.

The De Gea’s error brought about some similarities to mistakes made by Chelsea’s Kepa Arizzabalaga in recent weeks, as the Spaniard’s lack of concentration also costed his sides in previous weeks.

The incident attracted focus to De Gea’s future despite racking over 400 appearances for United.

Dean Henderson who has impressed on loan at Sheffield United this season is being brought to the spotlight once again to replace the out of form De Gea.

“If the goalkeeper makes one mistake, or possibly two, you think you should stick with him”.

“But it keeps happening. I think you only bring Dean Henderson back to Manchester United as the number one, or you keep him where he is to keep gaining experience. I think that time has come,” former Newcastle United manager Alan Shearer told the BBC.

However, United would shift their focus to the midweek clash with West Ham United as their bid for a top-four finish strengthens.
