The club announced the signing of the Dutch starlet with an official statement on their website.
The statement reads: “Manchester United is delighted to confirm the arrival of Donny van de Beek from Ajax. The Dutch midfielder has signed a five-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year.”
The Dutchman should prove to be a wonderful addition to the Red Devils. He boasts a composure in front of goal and tactical awareness that are well beyond his years.
These qualities endeared him to Ole Gunner Solskjaer, who van de Beek claims was instrumental in convincing him to make the move to Old Trafford.
“Having spoken to the manager about his vision for this team, the direction that the club is going in is hugely exciting and I cannot wait to be a part of that,” van de Beek told Manchester United.

Ajax have bid an emotional farewell to their academy graduate. The Netherlands international contributed 10 goals and 11 assists in 37 games last season for Ajax before the Eredivisie was curtailed.
The 23-year-old acknowledged his former club saying: “I would like to thank everyone at Ajax. I grew up there and I will always have a special bond with the club.
“I am now ready to take the next step in my career and perform at the highest level and there is no higher standard than Manchester United.”
