United have just over a month to meet Dortmund’s asking price for Sancho, with the Black and Yellow outfit aiming to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
18-year-old Mason Greenwood has featured on the right side of United’s attack in recent games, his impressive displays have drawn conclusions that United don’t need to splash the cash on Jadon Sancho as a right-wing replacement.
Nevertheless, United’s long term target for the attacker remains Jadon Sancho, with the 20-year-old forward reportedly keen to join his United revolution.
Despite Dortmund’s chief Hans-Joachim Watzke claiming the club won’t accept a cut-fee on their original £110m valuation of Sancho, the stance has softened.
The 20-year-old has had stellar seasons in Germany and has contributed a staggering 20 goals and 18 assists in 44 games in the 19/20 season to make him one of the world’s most exciting young players.
Agreeing on personal terms with Sancho will not be a problem for United, but United aren’t willing to pay over the odds for the Bundesliga star as Solskjear’s emphasis on recruiting players at the right price stands.
Dortmund do not want the issue of Sancho’s future to undermine their preparations for next season and have made it clear to United there is a deadline they must meet if they want him.
The Metro reports that Dortmund are heading to Switzerland for a training camp on August 10 and want Sancho’s future resolved by then so it doesn’t interfere in their preparations for the next season.
