Six players United can sell to fund Sancho’s deal

Manchester United are looking to get enough funds to seal Jadon Sancho’s deal with several players set to be axed.

The English attacker’s future has caused uncertainty in recent weeks as he remains heavily linked to the Stretford End.

Teams have been left financially cautious ahead of the transfer window due to the current pandemic, leaving United considering alternatives.

Dortmund have slapped a whooping £117million price tag on their star, a fee United have shown an unwillingness to fork out holding out for a  £50m deal.

Ed Woodward earlier stated plans for his frugal spendings in the transfer window and in order to balance the books for this bumper signing six players are set to be axed.

According to The Athletic, the six most likely to be sold this summer are Alexis Sanchez, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot.

United forward Sanchez is currently on a season-long loan at Inter Milan but his struggles have continued in Italy and the Chilean is set to return to Old Trafford when the campaign ends.

United should ideally offload Sanchez this summer but his lofty wages mean it is unlikely a permanent buyer will be found.

West Ham currently find themselves in a relegation battle, however, they are planning ahead of their next season should they stay up.

With former United manager Moyes keen to bolster his options in the West Ham United team.

The Scotsman is planning a double swoop for Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones, a deal dependent on the Hammers’ survival in the League.

The club has placed a £35million tag on the Portuguese as he’s being linked with a move from the club.

With each of these players falling out of favour during Solskjaer’s reign, a move away from the club would do both parties good.
