Here are three major talking points from the victory.
High-end Reds
Solskjaer’s men have timed their strong run of form to perfection and end the season on a high. United end the Premier League on a 14-match unbeaten run. They collected 32 points, the most in the division within this period.

Consequently, United have finished the season in the third spot. The squad will have to be strengthened before the commencement of next season, but the strong finish to the season can be seen as a sign of better things to come.
The Bruno effect
United’s turn of fortune can be traced to the acquisition of Portuguese maestro Bruno Fernandes. To say he had an instant impact on Manchester United would be an understatement.

He ends the season unbeaten in the league, visibly fatigued, and highly celebrated. Fernandes has been directly involved in 15 league goals since his debut scoring eight and providing seven assists.
Lingard leaves it late
Jesse Lingard got on the score-sheet yesterday, his first Premier League goal of the season. He made the goal himself with some smart pressing to force an error out of Kasper Schmeichel before passing it into the net.

The goal will perhaps feel like a moment of personal vindication for Lingard, who is often criticised for his output. Lingard will want to put the past year behind him and if he remains at United next season, this goal will certainly be a morale booster to take into next year.
